Hello Michele. Thank you for this presentation. I have recently inherited some .NET code from an architect who is no longer working with us, and so we have an HTTPModule implemented that acts upon the AcquireRequestState event. From the information in your slides, it appears this event should fire before the page is built. However, when we are testing (we have not yet deployed), it seems that occasionally our page will load without this event ever having fired. Can you help me understand why that may be? I have looked through MSDN help and have yet to find an answer. If you can help, please let me know. Thank you!

Vanessa,

This event is fired after the runtime has determined that the page is not located in the output cache. So, the first thing I would look for is any code or declarative statements that cache this page. You may see an @ OutputCache directive below the @ Page directive of the *.aspx page. Or code in the page's code-behind file that caches the page programmatically.

Michele,

Great presentatition. It looks like the JPG HttpHandlerFactoty didn't get fired during your demo because although you changed the web.config, you didn't save it. I wasn't watching the presentation live, but I was yelling...."you didn't save the file!!" :)

Watching this presentation would be great before reading a more detailed explanation from a book. You should market your presentations to authors that could include them in their books!

Funny, everyone else saw it but me, until I restarted the dev-env. Thanks :)
