My pal Jennifer Ritzinger at Microsoft has kicked off a new Channel 9 series highlighting women with cool jobs in technology. The first interview is with Angela Mills who is the Group Program Manager for Indigo (WCF)...my favorite new technology. She talks about what it is like guiding the process of building the next generation platform...she's awesome.

Oh, another cool interview I saw there (haven't heard yet) from the speech writer for Steve Ballmer...what a job! He doesn't something like 200 speeches per year, and you know they have to rock!!

Oh, and don't confuse WM_IN with a Windows message :) Gosh, that gets me thinking...the last time I messed with anything WM_XXX was when I programmed ATL/C++ in the late 90's...gosh it's good to have .NET!!!!

Happy New Year Dasblonde,

I am in Mississauga, Ontario in Canada for my x-Mas holidays. I am impressed by your statement about C++. I think C++ has gotten legs and arms to push development into the new era. The new C++ 2005 has lots of goodies including new extension to the ATL libraries. I do not think anything yet can match the power of C++. I still program in unmannaged environment and I honestly do not believe it is about to go away; however, I used VS.NET 2005 to program in an unmanaged C++ unvironment. The problem with C# is that you have to have .NET installed while using unmanaged C++ I still can program for OS by using directives... Hence making it the best programming language. I understand if the RAD functionality is not of help; nevertheless, C++ is the future I guarantee you... C# might have the RAD functionality but in my opinion that is only an urban legend... C++ once again is the future to development. Not C#, not VB.NET, nor Java.
